Global Village
According to the World Health Organization, dental caries affects 60 to 90% of all school aged children and approximately 90% of adults worldwide. It is the most prevalent disease in the world and it can cause debilitating effects if left untreated. Dental caries can lead to serious, even life-threatening infections of the face and jaws. In most countries of the developed world, dental caries can be controlled by simple prevention and water fluoridation. There are many parts of the world, where access to healthcare is limited or non existent and access to clean drinking water is scarce.
Our office is committed to engaging this public health issue. Each year, Dr. Chen and his staff participate in humanitarian efforts to increase awareness and access to dental care. Your support makes this work possible. We will post our stories here. We encourage every one of you to learn more about the humanitarian health and international development projects being carried out by conscientious organizations throughout the world.
